Olympic Channel ()

The Olympic Channel was founded in 2016 by the International Olympic Committee. It is an Internet service televising the Olympics and international sports on a 24-7-365 basis, although in some countries, notably the United States, the Olympic Channel was also seen on linear television. Its goal is to maintain interest in Olympic and international sports between periods of the celebrations of the Olympic Games.

The idea for an Olympic Channel was proposed in 1994 by current IOC President Thomas Bach, and concurrently in the United States, by then USOC chair Peter Ueberroth. The idea of a separate Olympic Channel in the United States was not well-received by the IOC and it never occurred.

The Olympic Channel is led by a board of directors that serves as a de facto IOC Commission. As of 2022 the Olympic Channel Board of Directors is led by chair Richard Carrión, with vice-chairs Francesco Ricci Bitti, Ivo Ferriani, and Robin Mitchell.
