There were 26 ballooning events at the 1900 Paris Exposition, which were more properly termed exhibitions. They were mixed, with both men and women participating. The events all took place starting at the Aerostation at the Parc de Vincennes in Paris. This event was combined with the closest landing to target, intermediate stop, giving three separate classifications, two for the separate events, and the combined event. All three were won by Jacques Fauré, who competed in 19 balloon events at the 1900 Paris Exposition, winning these three. He also finished third in the Grand Prix de l’Aeronautique, which was the all-around ballooning event. For winning this event Fauré received a silver plaque valued at 150 francs.
