Three-Person Keelboat (6 metres), Open

Three of the nine boats that entered the 6 metre class proved to be a class apart from the other competitors and, as the event progressed, it became apparent that the Norwegian crew, captained by Anders Lundgren, would not be bettered at the 1924 Olympics. Norway finished third in the first of the Olympic races, but then won four races in a row to win the title comfortably. Denmark and the Netherlands finished equal on five points in the final phase, but the Danes were awarded the silver medal because of their slightly superior performances in the first phase of competition.

A member of the gold winning crew was Eugen Lunde, the first Olympian from a family which would grace the Olympics for four generations. Léon Huybrechts, who won gold in the single-handed Olympic monotype class at these Games, skippered the Belgian crew on this event but could only place fifth.
