The Icelandic form of wrestling, called glíma, was held at the Olympic Games twice as a demonstration sport. In both 1908 and 1912, the top Icelandic wrestlers competed at the Olympics, but it helped little in popularizing their sport, which is still mostly contested by Icelanders.
