Description

In this Dutch sport, predominantly played in the northern province of Friesland (it is sometimes referred to as Frisian handball), the ball is played by athletes with the bare hand. The sport is similar to related sports such as basque pelota, jeu de paume, and the American and Irish form of handball. Kaatsen was held as a demonstration sport at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
