Racquets (or rackets, in British English), has been contested as an Olympic sport only in 1908, when a men’s singles and doubles event was held in London. While its offshoot squash has become a popular sport worldwide, racquets remains obscure. It is mainly contested in the United States and Great Britain, and lacks an international governing body. Although World Championships are conducted, there are less than 30 racquets courts in the USA and the United Kingdom.
