Biography

Austrian cross-country skier Gerhard Urain participated in the 1998 Nagano and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. His best result was an unfortunate fourth place with the 4x10 km relay in 2002. His best World Cup performance was a silver in the relay.

Urain won the Engadin ski marathon race in 2000 over 42 km. Domestically he earned titles over 50 km in 1998, over 30 km in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2005, and with the relays in 1994, 1997, and 1998. He also won the national titles over 15 km in 2003 and in team sprint in 2003 and 2004.
