Fife’s Peter Donaldson never fought for a British ABA title, although he reached the Scottish ABA featherweight final three years in succession, 1923-25. He lost to Walter White in 1923, and Harry Dingley in 1924. The following year, however, he defeated Dingley in the semi-final before going on to beat J. Lindsay in the final. Donaldson turned professional in 1925 and, between then and 1932, engaged in 28 bouts. His only title fight was for the Scottish area featherweight title in 1929, when he lost to Johnny McMillan after retiring in the 13th of their scheduled 15-round contest.
