Biography

A right winger, Bill Guerin broke into the NHL with the New Jersey Devils in 1991-92, and played 6½ seasons with the Devils, but he has played for eight NHL teams, including the Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, and the St. Louis Blues. Guerin played four years of junior hockey with the Springfield Olympics of the New England Junior Hockey League, and then played two years of college hockey at Boston College. In his first two years in the pros, he was up and down to the American Hockey League, where he played for the Utica Devils. Guerin made the 2001-02 NHL All-Star second team, and has played in four NHL All-Star Games. In 1995 he played for the Devils in their successful run to the Stanley Cup. In 2003-04, Guerin led the NHL in game-winning goals with 10. Internationally he has played in three Winter Olympic Games, played for the US at the 1989 and 1990 World Junior Championships, and played at the 1997 and 2005 World Cup.
