Biography

Yvan Delsarte played basketball with Collège Saint-Louis Basket in Liège and had his most notable moment in that sport in 1952, when he was selected to represent Belgium at that year’s Olympic Games. In Helsinki, the Belgian team won its match against Switzerland, but lost twice against Cuba – once in regular round robin play and once in an advancement playoff – and was eliminated from the tournament. By career he was trained as an engineer and he also served as a reserve officer in the military. He had a lengthy career in engineering and earned additional credentials from Harvard University in 1981.
