Biography
Giorgio Bongiovanni played mostly for the Bologna club Gira (abbreviation of Girardengo, the famous Italian cyclist) in the 1950s. He made his international début against Austria in January 1950 and went on to score 222 points in 50 matches. He participated in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics where Italy was eliminated in the final match of the qualification round.
