Biography

Mexican track and field athlete Alfonso García competed in the 400 and 800 metres. García won gold at the 1926 Central American and Caribbean Games in the 4 × 400 metres relay with Carlos Garcés, Jesús Moraila, and Lucílo Iturbe. Two years later he ran in the 400 and 800 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not progress from the heats in either race. García also ran in the 4 × 400 metres relay in Amsterdam but the Mexican quartet were eliminated in the first round.
