Biography

As a specialist in freestyle swimming, Marguerite Ledoux won several French titles in the pool in the 1920s. Ledoux won her first national titles in 1926 with victory in the 400 metres and 1,000 metres freestyle. She followed this by becoming the French champion in the 100 metres freestyle in 1927, as well as winning the 400 metres title in 1927 and 1928. Her performances earned her a place on the French Olympic team for the 1928 Amsterdam Games. She swam in the 100, 400, and 4 × 100 metres freestyle relay at the Games, finishing fifth in the latter.
