Chinese-born tennis table player Chen Weixing represented Austria at three editions of the Olympic Games from Athens 2004 to London 2012. He was eliminated in the third round in the singles in 2004 and 2008, and in the fourth round in 2012. With the Austrian team he came fourth in 2008 and tied fifth in 2012, losing the quarter final to Germany 3-0.
As he could not develop his own playing style in China, Chen went to Europe. After periods in Hungary and Germany, he received Austrian citizenship in 2000 and helped SVS Niederösterreich win the European Champions League in 2008. In 2003, he was European men’s doubles champion and was runner-up in the mixed doubles. At the 2005 Europeans, Chen won silver medals with the team and mixed doubles. He later turned to coaching.
