Biography

Ľubor Štark was a Slovak kayaker who competed for Czechoslovakia. Štark began his career in Bratislava, where he was coached by Ladislav Čepčianske. Štark made his début at an international event at the 1973 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Tampere, Finland. At the 1976 Montréal Olympics, Štark finished in ninth place in the 1000 metres individual kayak event. After his competitive career, Štark became a member of the Slovak Association of Speed Canoeing, and between 2004 and 2016, he was a representative of the Slovak Olympic Committee.
