Biography
Nina Gruzintseva was a kayaker who paddled at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. She won a gold medal in the K2-500 in 1958 alongside Mariya Shubina. Gruzintseva was a three-time European Champion, winning golds in K2 in 1957 and 1961 and K4 in 1961. She was a 19-time Soviet Champion.
After her competitive days ended, Gruzintseva became a coach in Novgorod, working with paddlers until age 80. She was later named an honorary citizen of Novgorod and was an Honored Master of Sports in the USSR.
