Biography

Jaoid Chiguer boxed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, losing in the eighth-finals. He was French amateur champion in 2010 and won a bronze medal at the 2008 European Championships as a welterweight. Chiguer turned professional in 2012, and had a short pro career, winning all seven of his bouts, four by knockout. However, they were all fought near his hometown of Troyes against lesser opponents. He retired after beating Jean-Bernard Vandenbussche on 3 May 2014. Chiguer founded the Boxing Club of Troyes and died at age 35 from a heart attack he suffered in the hall of the club.
