Dominique Bentejac

During the 1970s French equestrian Dominique Bentejac was a three-time national champion in eventing. At the 1970 World Eventing Championships in Punchestown, Ireland, Bentejac was part of the French quartet that won the silver medal in the team event. Two years later he rode in the team and individual competitions at the 1972 München Olympics, finishing 11th and 42nd, respectively. Despite having a severe accident in a cross-country event in May 1975 Bentejac continued to compete returning to the Olympics the following summer in Montréal. Despite a strong performance in the dressage, however, he was disqualified during the cross-country element of the competition.
