Biography

Edwin Mosquera was a lightweight weightlifter who competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. He also competed at the 2007 Pan American Games, winning a silver medal in total, and he won the Pan American Championships in 2008 and 2010. Mosquera was a professional soldier of the National Army and part of the Military Forces Lifting League.

Tragically, in December 2017 Mosquera was visiting an establishment in the Villa de las Palmas section of Palmira, when an assassin entered and shot him several times, killing him.
