Biography

Moussa Moguena served the Olympic Movement as President of the Comité Olympique et Sportif Tchadien (Chad). He was President of the Chadian Volleyball Federation from 1986-92, and led the Chadian team at the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympic Games.

Moguena studied at the School of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris and became an Air Force officer. The son of a French Army veteran he had a long military career eventually the rank of general. Moguena served in several prominent roles, including Chief of Technical Services of the Chadian Air Force, Aide-de-Camp, Chief of Security at the Presidency of the Republic, Commander of the N’Djamena Air Base, and Commander of the Inter-Arms Officers School. He was a military attaché at the Chadian Embassy in Paris, also having jurisdiction over Germany, Greece, Italy, Great Britain, and Belgium.

For his military career he was made a Knight of the National Order of Chad, Knight of the National Order of Leopard (Zaire), Officer of the Central African National Order, and an Officer of the National Order of the Nile (Egypt).
