Biography

Jesús Gómez was on the Mexican national equestrian team from 1968-80, his career capped by the bronze medal he won in the team show jumping at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Gómez also rode at the 1971 Pan American Games, but failed to medal. In 1974 he rode Don Jesús and the pair established a Mexican record of a 2.20 metre high jump.

Gómez became the Mexican team leader from 1988-93, during which time he created the National Equestrian Circuit and organized three international competitions, the first in the Campo Militar Marte.
