Biography

After graduation in 1904, Frank Martin studied at the Royal War Academy and was commissioned as an officer in 1906. Later, he attended the Strömsholm Riding School and the War College. In 1923, he also studied at the French Riding School in Saumur and in 1925 the Shooting School in Rosersberg. In 1906 Martin became a lieutenant with the dragoons of the King’s Own Regiment. In 1915-1919 he taught military science at the Strömsholm Riding School. He was promoted to captain in 1928 and became captain and squadron leader of the King’s Own Mounted Regiment. In 1928 Martin started working for the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet and joined the Press Club in 1933. Martin was appointed First Class Knight of the Order of the Sword.
