Guy Reyntiens followed in the footsteps of his father, Robert Reyntiens, who was a short-time IOC member, and became a career officer. And like his father he was involved in a duel. In 1910, Guy married Adrienne Régine Marie Jeanne Drugman; the couple had one son.
He placed 30th in the 1912 individual show jumping event but did not finish in eventing.
Reyntiens served in the 1st Guides Regiment and eventually rose to the rank of major. He was seriously wounded during the German invasion of Belgium in 1914. He was discharged from service early and died at the age of 51.
