Biography
Neal Shapiro began riding at the age of five and joined the U.S. international team in 1965. In 1972 he became only the third U.S. rider to win an individual medal in an Olympic show jumping event. Later Shapiro and his wife, Suzy, lived on Long Island, where he became a well-known owner, trainer, and driver of trotting horses.
