Count Clarence von Rosen, Jr. won bronze medals both in the three-day event and jumping. In the team classifications, however, Sweden did not finish either events. He came from a family, which was deeply involved in the Olympics. His father was an IOC member and also a member of the international jury in equestrian sports. His sister competed in the art competitions and his niece was a rider like himself. Von Rosen, Jr. died in 1933 when he was killed in an air crash, while he was a passenger during an air show.
