Biography

Andrea Faccini was an Italian track cyclist who specialized in the amateur sprint events. He achieved most of his success in the individual and tandem sprint. Domestically he won three consecutive titles in the individual competition (1986-88) and in tandem with Roberto Nicotti in 1986.

Internationally, Faccini notably distinguished himself in the tandem event, winning a silver medal at the 1987 World Championships in Wien (Vienna), paired with Nicotti, finishing behind the French team. He also won two World Championship bronze medals, in 1986 in Colorado Springs with Nicotti and in 1989 at Lyon alongside Federico Paris. At the 1988 Seoul Games, since the tandem was not scheduled (eliminated after 1972), Faccini participated in the individual sprint race, where he was eliminated in the second round.
