Leif Hansson

Swedish cyclist Leif Hansson became a junior national champion in 1965 when he was part of the trio that won the team time trial title. Hansson continued racing for the next few years, winning a stage of the Tour of Sweden in 1969, before winning the team time trial title as a senior rider at the national championships two years later. With back-to-back wins in the team time trial event at the Nordic Championships in 1971 and 1972, Hansson was selected to represent Sweden at the München Olympics. Whilst he did not finish in the road race, he did place sixth in the team time trial with his compatriots.

The following year Hansson, along with Tord Filipsson, Lennart Fagerlund, and Sven-Åke Nilsson, won bronze in the team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Barcelona. Hansson then won another team time trial title at the Nordic Championships in 1974, before competing in the road race at the 1976 Montréal Olympics.
