Biography

Tim Mountford raced for the North Hollywood Wheelmen. He was a track sprinter who won a bronze medal in the 10 km scratch race at the 1967 Pan American Games. Mountford was third in the US sprint championships in 1965 and 1967, and then won that title in 1969. After the 1972 Olympics, he left for Europe and raced in Britain with TI-Raleigh as a neo-pro. He raced there for three years and also rode several six-day races in the United States in 1973, finishing third in Detroit and second in Los Angeles.
