Biography

Thorstein Stryken was a Norwegian cyclist who was active after the end of World War I. In 1919 Stryken won the King’s Cup 100 kilometres road race to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. At the 1920 Antwerpen Games he finished 41st in the road race and eighth in the combined team event. After the Olympics he became a police officer, competing in several cycling events for his local police force. Stryken’s older brother, Thomas, was also a decent cyclist who was named as an alternate for the Antwerpen Olympics but ultimately did not compete at the Games.
