Ivan Valant was a competitive cyclist who represented Yugoslavia during the 1930s and 1940s. In 1936 Valant competed in the road race at the Berlin Olympics where he finished the course, but his time was not recorded. After the war he finished second in the 1947 edition of the Tour of Yugoslavia behind compatriot Aleksandar Strain.
