Biography

Ulises Valdés was a Cuban cyclist who was active during the 1960s and 1970s. During his career Valdés rode in multiple editions of the Vuelta a Cuba, with a best finish of eighth overall in 1971. Three years earlier he competed on both the road and track at the Mexico City Olympics, pairing with compatriot Juan Reyes in the tandem sprint. At the end of his career Valdés won gold in the team pursuit at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
