Biography

Stuart Morris attended Monkton Combe School near Bath, where his father was the headmaster of the junior school. Morris junior captained the school hockey first XI in 1959 and upon going to Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he played rugby and hockey, at which he won a Blue. Morris also became a schoolteacher like his father and spent 14 years at the Stowe public school. He also taught overseas for 10 years in Malaysia and Thailand.

Morris played his club hockey with Richmond and was also a Wiltshire County player, and in 1967 helped them win their first County Championship by beating the holders Cheshire 2-0 in the final. The following year Morris was a member of the Great Britain team that finished 12th (out of 16) at the Mexico Olympics and scored a goal in their 2-0 win over Malaysia,
