Biography

German field hockey player Tina Peters competed at two Olympic Games, winning the silver medal in 1992 when losing the final against Spain 2-1 after extra time. Therefore, the team and all players were awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Four years later at Atlanta the team placed a disappointing sixth.

Internationally, Peters won another silver medal at the 1991 European Championships, and also a bronze at the 1995 Europeans. Additionally, she won the European Indoors in 1990. In total, she played 91 international matches (including 10 indoor) from 1987-96. Domestically, she played with RHTC Bayer Leverkusen and later Rot-Weiß Köln. She helped Leverkusen win the national title in 1985 and 1990, and the indoor title in 1987.
