Biography

German field hockey goalkeeper Bianca Weiß competed in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and won the silver medal after losing the final against Spain 2-1 after extra time. Therefore, the team and all players were awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award.

Internationally, Weiß won the silver medal at the 1991 European Championships, and also won the European Indoor title in 1990 and 1993. In total, she played 60 international matches (including 7 indoor) from 1988-95. Domestically, she played with Rüsselsheimer RK. In 2021 she took over the presidency of her home club. Her daughter Pauline Heinz participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a field hockey player.
