Biography

Field hockey player Werner Freyberg was a member of the first German team to win an Olympic hockey medal, when they beat Belgium 3-0 to win the bronze medal at Amsterdam in 1928. He won four international caps between 1926-28. At club level he played for Leipziger SC.
