Biography

Field hockey player Kurt Haverbeck was a member of the first German team to win an Olympic hockey medal, when they beat Belgium 3-0 to win the bronze medal at Amsterdam in 1928. He won ten international caps between 1924-28. At club level he played for DHC Hannover. He later became chief physician of the internal medicine department of the Siloah hospital in Hannover.
