Biography

Felix Krull and the West German male field hockey team won the silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, losing the final 2-1 after extra time to Pakistan. Krull was European Champion in 1978 and also won the bronze medal at the 1983 Europeans. He won 56 international caps between 1978 and 1985. Due to the US-led boycott of the Western countries at the 1980 Moskva Games he could not participate.

Domestically, Krull played with DHC Hannover. He later became a tax advisor in Hannover, and also became president of the Lower Saxony Field Hockey Federation. Reinhard Krull used Felix as a nickname because of a novel by the famous German author Thomas Mann. The Original Title of the novel was: “Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull”.
