Biography

Felice Salis was one of nine players from the island of Sardinia who made up the Italian hockey (field) team at the 1960 Roma Olympics, coached by Rex Norris, Indian gold medallist at the 1928 Games.

Known by all as “Cicci,” Salis was a defenseman with the Amsicora Cagliari team. Salis was one of four players who played in all the team’s matches in Roma, alongside Antonio Vargiu, Luigi Farci, and the captain, Giampaolo Medda. Salis won four Italian championships between 1956 and 1961.

After ending his competitive career Salis coached the Amsicora club, helping them win the Italian junior title. He was a proud member of the Sardinian group of Azzurri d’Italia.
