Biography

German fencer Walther Meienreis competed in individual épée at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, but was eliminated in the first round. With the German sabre team Meienreis qualified for the semi-finals but missed the final. Meienreis wrote two textbooks about fencing in 1914. During Woirld War II he worked for the High Command of the German Navy (Oberkommando der Marine - OKM) and died of a heart attack in 1943.
