Born in Romania in 1931 Haralambie Firan served as the head coach of the Tunisian handball team from the mid-1960s until the early 1970s. Firan first worked as the team’s joint coach with Constantin Popa before managing the team on his own from 1968 until 1972. During this time he coached the Tunisian team at the München Olympics, where they finished 16th.
