Biography

Paul Apostol graduated from New York University with a degree in economics in 1967, and then earned a masters degree in economics from NYU in 1971. He competed in fencing for the New York Fencers Club. Apostol was NCAA Champion at NYU in sabre in 1966. He was US Champion in sabre in 1973, and competed at the 1970 Universiade and the 1971 World Championships. In 1975 Apostol won a silver medal in team sabre at the Pan American Games. He worked as an executive with Celanese Corporation, but also coached boys fencing at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
