Luis Valenzuela

Luis Valenzuela was coach of the Chilean basketball team at the 1948 London Olympics, not Ken Davidson as is often stated. Davidson was the national team coach in 1943-47, 1950, and 1954. Valenzuela coached the team in 1948, was co-head coach with Davidson in 1950, and coached them again in 1959, 1961, 1966, and 1971. He led them to the bronze medal at the 1959 World Championships. Valenzuela also coached the Chilean women’s national team at the 1957 World Championships.
