Biography

Franz Feldinger played midfielder for Austria Salzburg. In total he played in 687 matches for them from 1945-63 and won 11 regional titles. In 1953 he was on the team that was promoted for the first time to the highest Austrian league, called Staatsliga at that time. At the highest level he played 166 games for his team and was their long-time captain.

Feldinger also played 54 matches for the state of Salzburg team and four matches for the Olympic team, including both matches at the 1952 Games, when Austria lost its quarter-final to Sweden 3-1. After his retirement he became a coach and worked as secondary school teacher.
