Biography

Julie “Didi” Vlasto played singles at the 1924 Olympics, losing in the final to the formidable Suzanne Lenglen. Vlasto was French singles champion in 1924. She was French doubles champion in 1925-26, partnering Lenglen, and was runner-up in mixed doubles in 1925, alongside Henri Cochet. Vlasto played Wimbledon in 1923, 1926, 1929, and 1930, making the 1926 semi-finals before losing to Kitty Godfree. Vlasto was world ranked in the top 10 from 1923-26, with a high ranking of #8 in 1923.
