Biography

André Giamarchi began his playing career in Algeria with Racing Club de Philippeville, but then played with FC Annecy from 1953-63, leading them to titles at FIFA Lyonnais in 1954 and 1959, and the 1955 AFC Southeast Group title. In 1960 Giamarchi helped the team win the French amateur club championship. During his international career he earned 30 caps. After his playing days ended Giamarchi coached FC Annecy in 1972-73, and was on the Jean-Claude Cachat Commission in the 1980s. He owned a restaurant in Annecy until his retirement, when he settled in the Savoy.
