Ronnie Worm

Forward Ronnie Worm was a member of the West German football squad beaten 3-2 by East Germany in their deciding second group stage game at the 1972 München home Olympics.

Worm’s only appearances for the national amateur team were at those Olympics. However, he went on to win seven full international caps for the senior squad between 1975-78, scoring five goals. He was a member of both the 1976 European Championship and 1978 World Cup squads, but did not get called upon in either tournament.

Domestically, Worm played 380 Bundesliga matches with MSV Duisburg and Eintracht Braunschweig from 1971-85, scoring 119 goals. Worm later turned to coaching and worked with Hertha BSC Berlin, FC Sachsen Leipzig, TSV Havelse, several football camps, and the Eintracht Braunschweig women’s team.
