Biography

Wally Ziaja was a defender who played for the Bavarian Blue Ribbons in 1972. In addition to his Olympic appearance Ziaja earned four caps with the US national team between 1971-73. Ziaja briefly played professional soccer in the North American Soccer League (NASL), playing with the Atlanta Chiefs in 1973 and the Denver Dynamos in 1974. He then became a coach, coaching at Arrowhead High School in Wisconsin and later at Whitefish Bay High School. Ziaja is a member of the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame.
