Biography

Mark Gurr was a Zimbabwean professional tennis player who represented his country in the Davis Cup. Gurr played in the boy’s singles at the 1984 Wimbledon Championship but lost in straight sets in the first round. At the 1987 All African Games he and Byron Black won the gold medal in the doubles. The following year he competed in the singles and the doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. In the singles he lost in the first round to Spain’s Sergio Casal, and reached the second round in the doubles with partner Philip Tuckniss.
