Biography

Teofila Băiașu was active in gymnastics from the 1940s, under her maiden name Teofila Daschievici. A member of the 1952 Romanian Olympic team, she was the Romanian national champion in the balance beam (1955) and a two-time champion in parallel bars (1953, 1954). She also placed second in the individual all-around in 1954, and third place in the balance beam (1953, 1954). She was also a member of the Romanian team that competed at the 1954 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Roma. Băiașu later became a gymnastics teacher and remained active in the sport into the late 1950s. She was awarded the title of master of sports.
