Biography

Hana Bobková took up gymnastics after World War II, and attended her only major international tournament when she was selected to represent Czechoslovakia at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. There, she earned bronze in the team all-around, with Eva Bosáková-Věchtová, Alena Chadimová, Jana Rabasová, Božena Srncová, Matylda Matoušková-Šínová, Věra Vančurová, and Alena Reichová, and had an individual best finish of 27th in the uneven bars. She also won at least one national title in Czechoslovakia that year. Following her retirement from active competition, she worked in coaching and sports administration, but also served as an international gymnastics referee, including at the 1960, 1968, 1972, and 1980 editions of the Summer Olympics. She continued teaching into the 1990s.
